6th grade Semillas-UNA FUERZA

Whatcha mean were gonna plant?

This past week the MLA 6th graders took to the earth and
prepared their own garden plots. They sheet mulched a patch of
grass in the front of the school and then took away years of weeds
and ivy. In total, 65 students planted plots this past week.

As the year comes to a close, the garden continues to reflect the
positive changes at the school. Please check back for updates and stay
tuned for our fall harvest event!

We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity
belonging to us. When we see land as a community
to which we belong, we may begin to use it with
love and respect.
